Parameters of Peace

Lord God of Love of Humankind, we pray
To give sight to the lost and blind; we say:
Awaken in us all our ancient creed --
To love God fully and to displace greed.
From Moses' Tablets to Christ's God of Love,
We gain the Gift of Peace shown by the Dove.
Ours is the Duty to choose the good deed,
Inspired by all we know as Al Wahid.
The "Holy Land" has been the pawn of kings,
A source of conflict hate and evil things
While He who is the All-in-All requires
That we seek for His Spirit which inspires.
No peace can come where there's is no Goodwill.
We pray God will His Peace in us instill:
To banish war and not let children cry,
Nor women, agèd, trees or buildings die.
Retaliation is no answer here
If reconciliation we all cheer.
Hateful, ungodly attitudes destroy
All human hopes for lasting Peace and Joy.
For, only if we honour what we know,
Can we expect World Peace on earth to grow.
